About this event

Inclusion is a way of thinking and acting that demonstrates universal acceptance and promotes a sense of belonging for all learners. (Alberta.ca)

What does inclusion look like in your classroom? How do we ensure all students feel they belong? With the increase of diverse student population, we see more immigrant and refugee students in our classrooms. Inclusion in the classroom is more important than ever. The Local 38 PD Committee would like to invite you to learn about this refugee family’s story and be inspired to nurture an inclusive environment for your students. All at the same time, having a movie night out with colleagues!

Peace By Chocolate is a 2021 Canadian drama film by Jonathan Keijser. The film is based on the the true story of the Hadhads, a family from Syria who moved to Canada as refugees settling in the small town Antigonish, Nova Scotia and establishing their new life.
